This anatomy tutorial will get you started with the basics of shape based anatomy. My goal is to teach you how to "SEE" anatomy as basic shapes and volumes instead of fleshy (and very difficult to see) masses. The focus will be on identifying the basic masses of the human body using shape rhythms and color coding. WATCH THE TUTORIAL VIDEO HERE  www.vectology.com/tutorials/an…

Here is a snip it!

Before we dive deep into vector painting and design, I would like to post some great reference material I created with a while back. A good understanding of surfaces and how light and shadow interact with each other will give you the power to create believable objects within any medium. The two main surface you will work with is the matte  surface, and the plastic /smooth surface.

Great sketching can be achieved with Adobe illustrator, no blends or raster effects required.

This technique will be covered thoroughly on VECTOLOGY.ORG  because it will be the basis for all quick rendering and character and design exploration. Color and textures can be added to these quick rendering, or re-traced to fit you design needs.

I would like to start of by saying thanks to everyone who has supported my work over the years, you have been one of the driving forces pushing me in the direction that will be headed in the near future. I want to do something that that gives back to the vector community and serves its members.

That being said, I would like to announce I will be creating a formal community for vector artist to learn everything that I know about art
creation, anatomy , figure drawing, and the rendering style that I have been perfecting over the years. This will be a very deep vector community
with an emphasis on the creation of concept art and creative environments.
Graphic design will play a major roll in this community also!

Comments to this journal will guide my curriculum decisions in the future,
so no question is to intrusive.

I plan to have art contest with prizes like Ipads to push the artist to the limits! Because we all love to win free stuff!

So on that note, feel free to ask questions and make suggestions!
