@04:15This is indeed a sight to witness. I've never imagines AI can be taken to such lengths.

Where would one start to begin with? Can the drawings be done with default brushes in AI?

Wouldn't it be easier to import a sketch from another Painting software then build on it in AI?

I'm very interested in your theology about vectors. Its truly outstanding.

Great sketching can be achieved with Adobe illustrator, no blends or raster effects required.

This technique will be covered thoroughly on VECTOLOGY.ORG because it will be the basis for all quick rendering and character and design exploration. Color and textures can be added to these quick rendering, or re-traced to fit you design needs.

Tools used:

Adobe illustrator CS5 ( works with any version)

Mouse

I hope this opens possibilities for everyone!

@04:15I like your vector painting.
How much RAM needed?
Doesn't it take more time to do this in vector than with a regular drawing software? Since you have all this extra brushwork for one shape that you make from the contours, then have to put it low opacity, instead of one brushstroke with a paintbrush at low opacity. Or do you have some method to put your shapes at low opacity without having to move your hand on the screen?

@04:15"How much RAM needed?"
2-4 gigs is enough.

"Doesn't it take more time to do this in vector than with a regular drawing software?"

It just depends on the drawing. I like to explore different shapes and textures before committing.

"do you have some method to put your shapes at low opacity without having to move your hand on the screen?"

All I can say right now is I've painted in both vector and raster and raster is the more flexible of the two because you can actually select the brush strokes individually.One I launch the site, digital painting will forever be changed! Digital paintings without resolution restrictions!!!!

@04:26It is very inspiring to see the power of vector displayed in this film. It also gives me some major ideas on what to do with vector art now. thanks :).

Will you be teaching about how to make amazing art with the pen tool and live paint bucket tool as well? I would love to learn about both techniques more in depth.
